06.08.08 Avon Descent

Congratulations to Simon Roll (and partner Todd Coulter) for taking overall line honours in the Avon Descent last weekend.
The win was set-up with a record breaking day one. (6 minutes faster than the old record).
This overall line honours result is an amazing achievement given that the boys beat the fastest Teams to the line as well.
Well done Simon! Your many years of hard work has paid off!!

07.01.08 Kate Bevilaqua wins the Triathlon New Zealand Long Distance Championships

Congratulations to Kate Bevilaqua on amazing victory on Saturday in the Port of Tauranga Half Ironman.

This race is also the Triathlon New Zealand Long Distance Championships.

After a year of showing plenty of promise (2007), with a string of fourth placings, Kate even surprised herself with her early season form! A win against some very strong long course athletes, a personal best time, and all this without a taper!

The victory didn’t come easy with a shoulder to shoulder duel with Jo Lawn for the last four kilometres. Kate just managed to out sprint Lawn to the line to win by 10 seconds.

All the best to you Kate for Ironman New Zealand in March.
